The free plan is for personal projects, home infrastructure and evaluation, and it is not time limited. If what you are watching is something your customers depend on, it belongs on a paid plan, which is what pays for the locations, the alerting, and somebody being awake to fix the service itself. The terms say the same thing in fewer words.
Questions
- What happens if I go over a limit?
- Nothing is deleted and nothing stops mid-check. You are told which limit you reached, and monitors beyond the allowance cannot be added until you free one up or move plan.
- Is the free plan a trial?
- No. It does not expire and does not ask for a card. It checks from one location, which is enough to know a service is down and not enough to know whose network is at fault.
- What does a paid plan actually add?
- Checks from several independent networks at once, agreement between them before anything is called down, more monitors, and shorter intervals.
- Are agents counted against the monitor limit?
- No, they have their own allowance: 1 on the free plan, 5 on Plus, 25 on Pro. The monitors they feed count against the monitor limit.
- Can I cancel?
- Yes, from the billing portal, at any time. The account drops to the free plan at the end of the period rather than being deleted.
