What we collect
- Your email address. It is the account identifier and how you sign in.
- What you ask us to monitor. Hostnames, URLs, ports and the settings around them.
- The results of those checks. Whether the target answered, how quickly, and the response status.
- Alert destinations you configure. Email addresses, phone numbers or webhook URLs, so that we can deliver notifications to them.
- Metrics from agents you install, if you install them: CPU, memory, disk and network figures from that machine.
- Ordinary server logs, including IP addresses, for security and debugging.
What we do not collect
We do not run third-party analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. We do not sell or share your data. We do not read the content of responses from your targets beyond the matching you explicitly configure.
How we count page views
We count how many times each page of this website is read, using our own code on our own servers. For each view we add one to a counter, kept per day, per page, per referring website, per campaign tag in the link you followed, and per country.
That is the whole record. There is no identifier of any kind, so nothing distinguishes one reader from another: we can tell you a page was read forty times, and there is no operation that recovers who read it. We do not store your IP address or your browser's user agent against a view, and we write nothing at all to your device: no cookie, no local storage, no marker of any kind. This is also why we cannot report visitor counts or sessions, and do not claim to.
If you arrive from a link we tagged, an advert or a post we made, that
tag travels with you between our pages in the address bar, and if you then create an
account we keep it on the account so we know which channel brought you. It is a short
label such as reddit, and it is stored once, when the account is created.
Why we hold it
To provide the service you asked for: to run your checks, to show you their history, and to notify you. Payment processing is performed by Stripe, which holds the card details, and we never see them.
How long
Individual check results are kept for 90 days and then deleted automatically, which is where the 90-day figures on status pages come from. Agent metrics are kept for 30 days. Account and configuration data is kept for as long as the account exists.
Where
Data is stored in the European Union. Checks themselves run from servers in several countries, and those addresses are published at /ips.json, but only the check result travels back, not your data.
Cookies
One cookie, holding your sign-in session. It is httpOnly, so scripts cannot read it. We set no analytics or advertising cookies, and store nothing else on your device, which is why you have not been shown a consent banner: there is nothing for one to ask about.
Your rights
You can export or delete your data, or ask what we hold, by writing to [email protected]. Deleting your account removes your monitors, their history and your alert destinations.
